Re: Data recovering

Hi Harry,
Thanks for the tip, which I tried and I think there is something else that's happening here.
I checked the LapTimerDB which shows the lap times for every lap for that day and the LapTimerGPSRecDB file which shows the detailed data logged for the same day. I can see that both files contain the same number of laps (14-32).

The only difference is the time stamp on the data log file (the large detailed file). I will show the results below:

The last lap from the small file (showing the 16 laps for the day, file LapTimerDB)
32,29-MAY-16,16:43:22.00,04:17.94,7.290900,4.530355,1,2,00:26.09,01:21.89,01:56.86,00:00.00,00:00.00,00:00.00,00:00.00,00:00.00,"",Me

The last row from the detailed file (LapTimerGPSRec)
78042,32,29-MAY-16,14:47:38.95,257.150000,50.444483,5.967973,0.000000,0.000000,452.100000,1483.267719,316.4,0,3,0,0.000000,1414.0,7.290900,4.530355,0,0.01,0.97,0.600000,0,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000

As you can see, both files include the lap number (32 as the count started on the previous day it being a two day track day) on the day file containing the 23 laps, the time field is 16:43:22.00 but the time on the same lap (32) on the data log file is 14:47:38.95 for the same lap (32). -- (Added this later: It looks here that the difference is 2hours + the time to do a lap there around 3 minutes)

I would like to note that I opened both files in notepad in order to obtain the exact times (as excel tends to modify dates and times) to ensure that I will see the actual date as Laptimer registered it.

So I am now convinced that all of the data has been exported, but the time on the big data file has been changed. From further investigation it looks like the time difference is out of synch by two hours between the two files.

Could that be due to regional settings or the time difference between the UK where I live and the time in Belgium where I was at the time?

I will try to add 2 hours to the data file for now to see if that will sort the file out, but would like to have your opinion on the subject please.

Kind regards,

Chris

Yes, these date/time pairs are from different sources and different time zones. While the time shown for the lap is local time using the smartphone's clock, GPS fixes come with UTC time using the satellite clock. The later is the one that should be used everywhere actually.
