To adjust the LapTimer integration, please use the relink function again. This is exactly what it does - it replaces a dangling link with an existing link.

OK, the re-link did something, as a 313 MB video now shows up in Video Details, and the name of the video in the Link row under LAPTIMER INTEGRATION has the new naming format, without the comma or spaces. But when I select Export, I get a message titled Overlay Configuration that says Invalid master video. Beneath that, under 'Laps to Overlay', it says 'Master Missing'. So of course when I select Overlay, I get an error message that says "Master video is either not available, or misses the video or audio track. Please check Video List for alternates or download." Also, the actual size of the video I'm trying to link is 911 MB, not 313 MB.
When I go to Video List, there's a 313 MB video shown under LAPTIMER RECORDINGS, recorded on the correct date (September 11). It shows a time of 00:00.00 next to the camera icon, right above the 313 MB video size information on the left side of the screen.

This looks like the wrong video? File size shown in LapTimer is the physical file size and should not be different to file size for the desktop file. Showing duration 0 means iOS is not able to access the video file metadata - so it is most probably corrupted. Delete the file and copy it again (plus relink), and try again.

I realize it's past 10:00 PM in Germany, but I ran into a problem with my desktop computer - the plastic bracket holding the USB board to the case broke, so I had to turn it off, take it apart, and let the USB board dangle out the side of the open case.
Anyway, I did as you suggested and deleted the video from Laptimer, and put a fresh copy into itunes. But now, when I open one of the laps run during the video recording, the large camera icon is no longer present, so I don't know how to bring up Video Details, or therefore the re-link option. Please advise. Thanks.

Ok, when deleting the video from within LapTimer, -"" sync informations are removed too. Actually I wanted you to delete the video from iTunes File Sharing...
Anyway, this means you need to add the video from scratch. As you do not like the Video Documentation

, here are the steps in short: select the last lap covered by the video from Lap List. Press Edit and New Video. select the new video from the list and follow instructions.

It's not that I don't like the video documentation - it's an impressive document - it's just that I find it a little intimidating for a newbie (still!) like me. But now that I'm getting lots of practice troubleshooting a bothersome problem, I'm starting to feel more comfortable with the process

, so I'll try slogging through the document when I have a little time, as I know it's full of very valuable information.
But unfortunately, things still aren't working. When I go to add the new video, I do get the large box labeled 'Laptimer Recordings', but it still has a large NO next to the camera icon. And when I tap on the box to bring up Video Details, it shows the size of the file to only be 20 MB, which of course is way too small, and it still shows a time of 00:00.00.
One thing I noticed along the way is that when I check the Properties of the video on my desktop, it shows that it was created on September 11 at 11:11 PM, which of course is not correct (contrary to what I stated earlier). I actually made the recording on September 3. So maybe I inadvertently did something to the video on September 11 that is causing all the problems. That could have been the date I changed its name to 'Scott, 31 psi Nittos', but if that's the case, shouldn't it shows today's date in the video properties now, since I changed its name to 'Scott_31_psi_Nittos' today? Maybe I should delete the video from my desktop, and make a fresh copy from my GoPro.

Yes, you should.

Well, maybe this is a lost cause. I deleted the original video from my desktop computer, and copied a fresh copy from my GoPro, and didn't rename it this time. I went through the steps of copying it via itunes, pulled up the lap within Lap List, but when I tap on the Laptimer Recording box, the video that shows up is indeed from a few minutes ago, but the file size now shows as a paltry 65 MB, and it still shows a time of 00:00.00. And of course when I try exporting it, I get a message saying it's an Invalid master video. I could understand if I suspected that there is something wrong with the initial video, but its properties look very normal, and it plays beautifully on my desktop. Anything else I should try?
And I thought this was going to be the easier of the two tasks I was going to tackle this rainy weekend when I'm not going to be able to go to the track - transferring everything to a new device should be an absolute blast

You are transferring the .mp4 file, not one of the other two that modern GoPro's create. One is a thumbnail and the other is, IIRC, a low res copy.
IMO, the solution to the problem is to spent the $25 plus tax for the Apple SD card to Lightning adapter. I bought mine at Best Buy. I'm sure there are lots of other places that carry them. Then you can transfer the video to the Photo app without going through iTunes.
Another thought. Resolution. It probably needs to be 1080 or 720 and 30 fps. Maybe that was mentioned earlier in this thread. I didn't look.

This is kind of a long story, but I bought a Lexar micro SD card to lightning adapter, but I haven't used it yet, because my daughter just gave me her spare ipad mini, so I won't have to keep borrowing my wife's. To use the adapter, I have to download the Lexar mobile manager app to the ipad, and I didn't see the sense of doing that on an ipad I was no longer going to be using. Though it's a cumbersome process, I've successfully linked my GoPro videos to lap data in Laptimer before, using the exact same procedure I'm trying on the laps a pro driver recently ran in my car. My goal was to do this with these valuable laps before transferring everything to the new ipad, just so I knew I had a copy of the linked video before transferring everything over, in case something went wrong with the transfer to the new ipad. Not sure if that makes any sense or not. But seeing as I'm having no luck with the procedure for some reason, I will try the Lexar adapter once I get everything transferred to the new ipad.
