Yes, I have received the mail. I have no bandwidth available (2G / GPRS only) and can't watch the video for the next two days. I will come back on Thursday / Friday.

@dydy77

Thanks for sending the log.

It shows LapTimer detects a WiFi net it is connected to with default gateway 10.5.5.9 - which is the standard HERO adress. It sends both a Camera On command and a request for the cam status. Both do not return but timeout. This usually means the HERO is either frozen (and needs a reboot / reset), or the password configured in LapTimer and sent to the GoPro is not valid (from the HERO’s point of view).

I re-ran a test with LapTimer GrandPrix Android 20.0.7 using a Nexus 6 / Android 6. The cam is a HERO 3 running v03.00. With the HERO's WiFi module turned on, the Nexus connected the GoPro's WiFi and cam type set to HERO3/3+ and my password entered in LapTimer, I goto Timer and press Video. Pressing "External Cam only" changes the help text in Video Operation *immediately* showing the HERO3 as connected. Furthermore the HERO 3 cam is powered on immediately. This is actually like it should be. Switching to No Cam, turns the cam off but keeps WiFi active.

I have installed the latest update (3.03.03.00) for the HERO3 too and it did not change anything.

This is not your configuration but probably a strong indication you should a) recheck the password and b) maybe reset the cam and set it up again.

I dont understand

I am sur about my password...but i do that you suggest :

I reset my gopro password & gopro wifi name on GOPRO website tutorial.

I add new cam on GOPRO APP, enter new password, and gopro is well connected :)

I restart my phone (so gopro app will be closed), and lunch HLT.
I do exactly what you suggest :
With the HERO's WiFi module turned on, the Nexus connected the GoPro's WiFi and cam type set to HERO3/3+ and my password entered in LapTimer, I goto Timer and press Video. Pressing "External Cam only" changes the help text in Video Operation *immediately* showing the HERO3 as connected. Furthermore the HERO 3 cam is powered on immediately. This is actually like it should be. Switching to No Cam, turns the cam off but keeps WiFi active.
At this point (after reboot) the cam is well connected.

if i close the app, and re open after, i can not be connected to the cam.

i think my phone is bugy about wifi connexion :( I am so desperate.

You are sending the app to background with the GoPro enabled? Amd when pulling it forward again it can't connect again? I will check this scenario tomorrow and come back.

i restart the phone
Connect phone wifi to gopro ( power on or off it is the same but BT ON)
Lunch HLT -> laptimer View -> video -> external only
The go pro is connected

After i send the app to backgroud for SMS for exemple.
First time go pro is powering OFF.
When i return on HLT, Gopro is powering ON
And is connected

If i send the app a second time to backgroup
Gopro stay power ON
If i return on HLT, Gopro is always power ON, but not connected
if i lunch manualy a record, gopro not recording , but laptimer View -> video -> external only show hero3+ always connected

At this point i cannot have any connexion with HLT & GoPro :(

Problem found. It is about inactivation / reactivation when the app is sent to background. When going through the steps as described in viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3682&start=10#p19096, I started LapTimer and went through the steps described successfully. However, when sending the app to background with video operation active (i.e. either internal or external cam enabled), the video status is not set to None as it should. So when pulling the app forward again afterwards, the connection sometimes worked, but mostly not. The issue occurs for both the Android and the iOS version. For Android, the internal cam is not released correctly either and will make other video apps fail when started after LapTimer has been homed.

Workaround for 20.0.7: set Video Operation to None before sending the app to background and enable cam mode again when restarting it. The problem will be fixed in LapTimer v20.0.8.

It is look like OK for the swapping to background problem of the app ! Good JOB

But i have always a problem for connect the camera.
Sometimes cam is well connected (after reboot for exemple but not always), and at other moments, camera will never be connected.

I have observed that GoPro app reset et reconnect wifi after each app exit or swapping to background.
For exemple, if i am connected on HomeWifi, when i lunch GoProApp, the wifi is swaping to my wifiGoPro automatically.
And GoPro app always working fine.

But for HLT i don't thinks that the connection is reset, or retry to connect if is disconnected.

I send you a new log.

I don't know why i have all this problems :( I am alone

Test after test..., i thinks this item is bugged :

*Try HERO3/3+ Downloads, when it is activated, the connexion is random

I am happy, it should be work now, i will test in action in car tomorow on my fictiv track to go to my JOB, with auto detection (not manual like tonight)
