Please check illustration 4 in LapTimer's Quick Reference. It shows valid mounting positions for standard situations. When recording video, LapTimer expects you to have the phone pointing straight to the front - not like on your example to the left. Please try this again and let me know if you are still facing issues.

PS The wobbling is from the mount and probably from video stabilization (depend on phone model). Please use the recommended mount (see www.gps-laptimer.de/compatibility/ios and make sure it has the arm pointing down from top to bottom.
