Dubbedown wrote:I use my GoPro 3 to record external videos. After copying the videos over (as MP4), I import them with iPhoto. Once it's part of my iPhoto library, I then turn on iTunes to sync up the photo library (folder points to iPhoto).

On the phone I'm able to spot the video in the Photo Library but it is NOT in the Camera Roll. The imported video stays in its own folder, which is preventing me from linking the video to my laps in the app.

I've been able to import & overlay videos before but not sure why this time around it's not working so well. The one thing I noticed though is when I try to relink the video from the individual lap, my Video List has a section for GOPRO HERO3/3+ and it says:

Videos stored on GoPro HERO3/3+. Access is not available for this app edition or cam type-or MultiCam is disabled currently.

But I've always had the most expensive full feature version of the software (Grand Prix)... is there now an upgrade fee to overlay external videos?
I'm getting the same thing, Laptimer turned on my Gopro 3+ to record, but it's not available when it comes time to overlay the videos. My phone doesn't work when connecting connecting it via usb cable to the computer/itunes (broken), so I need another way to get the video off the Gopro 3+ into my phone. icloud download says I need version 8, I'm on version 7 iphone 4. Can I use dropbox or something? How do I get it in the correct folder?

Not sure you have seen my reply on the initial question? Direct access to HERO3 SD cards is limited as it is not reliable. This is a HERO3 firmware limitation which has improved for the HERO4. This is the reason I have disabled access for HERO3s by default. It is available for HERO4 cams and can be enabled in LapTimer's Expert Settings for HERO3 cams (on your own risk). Transferring footage is support in a different way since v19. Using iTunes File Sharing it is as easy as dropping the video into iTunes to make it available for LapTimer. Please check the updated video doc available on www.gps-laptimer.de (follow Documentation / Video Documentation).

I'm still having issues with this and have yet been able to overlay anything. When I try via WiFi to gopro 3+ the laptimer shuts down and I have to restart it. I only have WiFi capabilities; my phone doesn't connect to PC via USB cable (phone is broken). I need to be able to do everything via WiFi or some how import the video onto the phone so the laptimer can access it.

I can't give a full answer but synchronising video to photo app using iTunes + WiFi sync should work?

To enable Wifi sync you have to plug your iPhone via USB at some point...if he hasn't done so in the past, he remains stuck I guess.
