Group outing reports, race event uploading times
Hello Team Harry,
I'm new to HLT and learning the basics. The reason I have downloaded the app was the hope that if others in our Rally Cross group also used HLT that we could up load our lap times to one site or email address where they could be ranked for awards. There by allowing us to run our own "race" within a race.
Anyone doing this now? If so any tip, links and such would be amazing.
Thanks Dustin

Hi Dustin,
Welcome! Why not using LapTimer's Hall of Fame? As long as you and your peers do not turn lap time publishing off, every lap timed will be transferred to my server. In return, you can select your track from "Add-Ons" and find the laps recorded in the bottom. This is not a full race / track day management, but will contribute a lot. Besides the hall of fame, please check the Online View available in Petrolhead upwards. More information is available here: http://www.gps-laptimer.de/Online_Racing.html

Hi Harry, I see that link and looks like it only works for people on iPhone or is that page dated?
Re: Group outing reports, race event uploading times
The Android submits data just like the iOS version does. The online view is part of LapTimer's Petrolhead edition. This edition will get available for Android version in March. Actually the Online view is implemented for Android already (you may have a look into our Facebook page to see some snapshots).

Re: Group outing reports, race event uploading times
Hello Harry,
I'll be help testing this out with him and have a question. These races for rallycross and ice racing, the track layout is different almost every time and don't think it would qualify for the track certification. What would be the best way for a group of people to get the "one time" track and use the same POI's?
I know you left a comment on my review video about how to save / load track sets "locally". You said "just select the POI+Triggers row of your track in Lap List and press Certify. Now, instead of sending the result to me, just send the mail generated to yourself. You can open that mail and press the attachment to load it again later".
Would that work best, or is there an easier way?
And I did a test where I emailed the trigger set from my iPad to my iPhone, and that worked. But when I sent it from my iPad to an Android device (StatelineRallyCross's device), it didn't work. Is the an incompatibility between iOS and Android for sending the .hpoiz file?

No, there is no easier way
All files generated in iOS are the same as the Android ones (same for import), so that should actually work too. What exactly happened when you opened the file in Rookie 4 Android?

Harry,
StatelineRallyCross should be able to give you more info about what happened with opening it, or the lack of, on the Android device.
So, for the online feature for the "Lap List", does that only work for certified tracks? I ask because I did a test with my iPad and iPhone, both of which have HTL Grand Prix Edition.
What I did was create a start and finish triggers with my iPad and sent that to my iPhone so both devices were using the same POI's. In the settings of both devices under "ONLINE RACING" I have "Publish" set to "Always".
When both devices where on the "Online" view I could see both dots from each device and the line of the track. I did one lap of the track so I could see the track path. I alternated devices doing laps, iPad one lap, then used the iPhone, then iPad, ect. I did 5 laps with each device but did not see any "Lap List" in the upper right of the "Online" view during any point of my testing.
Both devices were connect to the server the whole time. "Server v18.0: 4 online, 2 watching"
Thoughts?

Re: Group outing reports, race event uploading times
The Hall of Fame is available for certified tracks only. This is true both for the complete list available in Add-Ons (for each track) and for the short list in the Online view. In version 18 this will be further refined. For this version, LapTimer's server will deliver track shapes so it is not necessary to drive a lap for clients used for watching. For cases a not certified track should be watches a preparation ahead of the race is necessary (fast track certification of track).
