Accidentially Moved Video from Multi-Cam to Camera Roll-Help

Post by tob11t »

Hi Harry,

I purchased the GP edition and set up a multi-cam app on an Iphone 4s and GP on my Iphone 5.
I selected Multicam in the app but forgot to enable it through the Iphone Icloud menu (document settings)

In the Multicam App on my Iphone 4, I pressed the Icon to move the "In Car" multicam footage to the camera roll. This was by accident. I've since activated I cloud properly and want to try and do a video overlay of my fastest laps of today, But on the master app the multicam video isn't available.

both previews show up but when I click "Overlay" it says that the master is good but the multicam isn't available.

What should I do to get the multicam in car footage back to my master app?

Thanks

In case you synchronize both phones to the same photo / video repository, it is easy. Simply sync your iPhone4S with iTunes and the video will be transferred to your photo space on the desktop. Next, sync your iPhone5 and the MultiCam footage will land on your iPhone5. LapTimer will automatically recognize it - although it is sitting in the Photo app.

So it is all about using the iTunes sync process - you will probably need to tweak the settings a bit, but that's the way to go.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the quick reply. I just thought Id mention that I started looking into your app after visiting Nurburgring for the first time a few weeks ago and seeing a few people use it. I also purchased a RAM mount locally and am very happy with the app and set up so far, thanks!

I am however still a little stuck with transferring the footage, a little more detail as to what I have;

64gb Iphone 5 - Main Phone with sim card, contacts, apps and 20+ photo albums synced from my local PC + another 3000+ photos on the camera roll.
has HLT GP installed and mounts onto windscreen with ram mount.

16GB Iphone 4S. spare freshly erased Iphone with no sim or contacts and just the Multi-Cam app (pointing backwards to record in car driver/passenger)

In reference to how to get the Multi-cam in car footage back to the main GP app, currently the multicam footage is sitting in the Iphone 4s camera roll (with not much else)

When you mention sync both the Iphones to the same repository, are you talking about using Icloud to Sync, as I haven't ever synced the "Camera Roll" to the PC. If I sync both the phones to the same Images, my 16GB would be out of space and that is just syncing with the albums I've created to load onto my Iphone 5.

I have got both the Iphones plugged into Itunes and both are set up to "automatic backup to this computer" as it will do a full backup instead of Icloud.

With the above in mind can you elaborate a little bit more as i'm keen to get the two videos together!

Thanks Harry!

No, that's not about iCloud sync, but the regular sync with iTunes (backup / music / photos etc). You can configure iTunes to sync both photos and videos from the Photo app with some desktop software. When following the instructions above, this will first copy your video from the iPhone4S to the desktop software (or simple directory), and the that data back to the iPhone5. iCloud is used for MultiCam / LapTimer direct copies but that route is closed once you have moved a video to the Photo library.
