Couple of questions.

Post by hukdizzle »

Hello Harry,

First of all great app, I have basically scrapped my HD cam for just using my Iphone.

1. Is there a way to flip the overlay orientation of the video overlay? Currently it appears to only over lay properly when the phone is turned 90' counter clockwise from a straight on portrait view. If you attempt to put it into landscape mode by rotating the phone clockwise 90' then the overlay will be upside down. It would help my mounting situation out immensely to be able to rotate my phone clockwise 90' and have the overlay realize the orientation of the phone and orientate the overlay accordingly.

2. Any tips on turning features of the phone off to conserve battery life on track days? I am sure turning 3G off will help quite a bit but do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

-Curtis

Hi,

v14 will support rotation clockwise too.

On power saving: turn off 3G, in case you use an external GPS sensor (like XGPS or TomTom) you may turn on flight mode. Turn position reporting off = 'Never' (in Settings). Turn off the screen while driving (use the button on the top right of you phone - or use the power saving setting in LapTimer's settings), LapTimer will continue working (but not with video!). Get a power supply :-)

The most power consuming topics are: bright screen, WLAN use (e.g OBD), video recording, online functions.
