Triggers: Compass for direction input

Post by devenh »

I'd enter directions into my triggers if it was easier to enter the data. The scroll wheels are tedious. How about a compass where we could just press the direction? Or just eight buttons: N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW?

Directions need to be entered at least with +- 5 degree accuracy, so the button approach will not work. But I agree adding a dial / compass control showing the result in real time would be convenient.

Wow, +/-5 degrees, that is tight!

So if you can't get within +/- 5 degrees is it better to leave direction blank?

After reading the docs my understanding is that direction is useful when triggers are near one another. If so, then if triggers are widely spaced, then setting direction is not necessary, right?

Sorry, I have not been clear here. +-5 degrees are needed to display nicely. In case you are off track direction by more than 5 degree, the lines drawn will look inaccurate. For detection, it is +-90 degree. Please always add directions - that more reliant.
