Issues with XGPS150 and SMS

Before I start, I just want to say how happy I am with this product. Really amazing work.

I am using the Grand Prix Edition with the XGPS150 for track days. The last two times at the track, it stopped working during my session. I realized it came down to two things:

1. Text messages interrupt the app.
2. The XGPS150 crashes and the light on it starts blinking really fast, causing GPS to stop.

For SMS, is there a way to avoid it from interrupting the app? I tried turning off cellular, but that causes GPS to stop working (iPhone 5).

The second issue only started happening after I did the 5ghz firmware upgrade. I know it is a problem with the GPS device, but I just wanted to hear if anyone else had the issue.

The ultima ratio is to remove the SIM card from your iPhone. This will remove any SMS notifications.
