Video overlay not including POI and Speed Inserts

Post by jackattack »

This is for the petrol head version. I have a video in my camera roll for iphone that I want to overlay data on. However, even though I say yes to include the POIs/Speed inserts, they will not show up on the final overlay video. I didn't have this problem in the previous version when I overlaid data, any ideas as to what is wrong?

Please make sure you have the track set loaded. There is no known issue in this area.

Harry, I did have the correct track loaded. Just to check, I reloaded the track and processed the overlay again but still didnt work. Also, the countdown doesn't work as well. Although I have the POI's, countdown, and date and time all checked as yes when I do the overlay, only the date comes up with the track map and speeds at the bottom.

Which video format do you use and which iPhone generation? Sounds like the upper area is cut off?

I'm using iphone 5, software version 6.1.4. Video format is m4v. Does not look like the picture is cut off at all and last time I used this format it worked fine. Since then I updated the apple software and the laptimer version.

It is not about the LapTimer or iOS version, it is some configuration issue... Please export one lap this happens for (one lap only please!) to .hlptrl and send it to my email address Harry@gps-laptimer.de In addition, please add a snapshot of the Overlay Configuration screen showing exactly the configuration you can reproduce the issue with.

Yes, please see my reply by email.

For all others: the recording has been a 480x360 video. LapTimer supports SD (640x480), HD (1280x720), and FullHD (x1080) for overlays only. The lower resolution are for picture in picture recordings - or "long duration" recordings that are not planned to be overlaid.

Hi there,

I am also experiencing problems to see POI info in overlaid video.

Need to say I record HD video only.
When doing overlay, option POI/Speed inserts is ON ("straights" and "corners" are shown in overlay without problem)

I do not use certified track as I am currently in the process of setting up of my own track. Would this be an originator of the problem?

Lastly, I use HLT GP edition, iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

Thanks for any hint in advance
