Daft pip question with second iPhone

Post by rscliofan »

Hi Harry, I have a 4s with jailbreak to add generic OBD support.

I'm about to look at getting a second iPhone to add pip.

I'm looking at a 5 but obviously it will come on 6.1.3 so I can't jailbreak it which is fine.

But I want to use that as the main camera with it being better than a 4s and use the 4s to film me so to speak for pip. So I take it I just use the facing camera option within video for that and then I take it I can use the 5 as a multicam using the better rear camera to film the track.

Secondly I will loose the SIM card from my 4s to go in the 5. I take it I just swap it back into the 4 for the day an HLT + multi cam will work fine without a sim it will be on the same carrier so that isnt an issue or will the phone start giving errors such as no SIM card and then stop recording in the 5.

Thanks

Yes, all fine. You will need to switch the video positions in your iPhone4S as it will add the 4S video as master and the 5 video as PiP. But that is just pressing Edit + moving the videos around in Lap Details. A SIM card is not required for MultiCam communication, it uses BT as connection technology.

Thanks Harry.

I was more worried about iOS popping up a warning about the sim mid session and then getting an alert in HLT and it not recording.
