HLT won't communicate with OBDII:2014 Jeep GC

I got the OBD wifi to work with my laptop running the OBDwiz software that came with the device, but first I got a message that the device was trying to communicate with two ECUs. It gave me a choice. One was the transmission and the other was the engine ECU. Of course I clicked on the engine and it worked.

With my iphone and HLT, it connects for a second or less then disconnects for about 15 seconds then repeats.

On my other car, a 2012 Dodge challenger, iphone/HLT/OBD wifi work fine.

Perhaps on the Jeep, HLT is confused by the 2 ECU issue with now way to choose which one.

Is there anything I can do?

LapTimer should actually work even if 2 ECUs answer. But there is obviously an issue. The production version has no logging capabilities, so getting my hands on the OBD data is not an easy task... You may try excluding PIDs like discussed in viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1338 You may start by manually excluding 0106010501100111 (see thread). In case that works, you can remove 4 digits each until the OBD stops working. Add this exclusion again afterwards as this is the PID causing the issue. Please let me know.

In case we cannot solve it like that, I need to provide you with a debug version - which is quite some work to do for both of us

Do I have to restart HLT after inputting those #s?

Do I set Auto exclude PIDs to off?

What constitutes a restart of HLT: Simply closing and opening HLT or do I power down iphone?

The settings have an immediate effect. To force a reconnect you can send the app to background (Home button) and foreground it again afterwards.
