Recalculating splits and detection corridor settings
Recalculating splits and detection corridor settings
Yesterday I introduced a friend to HLT on the Nordschleife. His iPhone 4s, mounted in the original car dock, very good GPS reception and start/finish worked perfectly for all of the seven laps. I then wanted to show him the theoretical best time of the day and saw that some laps had only 3 splits instead of 4. I tried recalculating the splits for those laps but HLT only came up with three again. I then went into the settings and changed the options for the wide detection corridor I was choosing for recalculation. I did several steps up to the maximum of 45° and 100m. Still the recalculation did not catch more than 3 splits for the mentioned laps. I took a short look at the GPS fixes and the reception quality and I'm thinking it was around Aremberg where GPS got too bad in some laps. Still it doesn't look to far off so that 100m should catch it. Am I doing something wrong or do the settings not count for the recalculation part? Nothing too serious and the logs were pretty good for a stand alone iPhone in my opinion...just curious as always.
Re: Recalculating splits and detection corridor settings
I've had the same problem recently at Sears Point/Sonoma Raceway. Many laps were missing one or more splits. And recalculating didn't help even on the "widest" settings.
Re: Recalculating splits and detection corridor settings
We had a look into the data Bulls recorded. The GPS reception has been very bad in the area of the split missed and far off track. The only fix is to move the split trigger temporarily, recalculate, and reload the track set afterwards.
