Moving database and movie to v17 Pro?

Post by Nor »

Hi

I have a few laps that I recorded using v.16.x. I upgraded to v.17 Petrolhead and all my information was there. I then downloaded v.17 Pro but that is a different application. Is there a way for me to import all my info/database/movies from the v.17 Petrolhead version to v.17 Professional version?

Cheers,
N

Go to "Laps". On the top left you should see a small iPhone and an envelope. There you will find the option to export all your laps, use .hlptrl format. You either need an email you can access from your iOS device or a Dropbox account to then import your laps in the new App.
The videos can't be exported / imported that way. Since you're not changing the device you simply have to move all of your videos to the camera roll (if that's not already the case...I'm not sure how it was in v16). From there you can re-assign them if necessary.

In case you move the videos to the camera roll, please export / import the lap data after having done this. Otherwise the links between laps and videos may break. As an alternative, you may move the videos into your iCloud (this can be done in Video List) - which can be accessed from the other LT instance too.

Finally, although I appreciate your special sponsoring :-) you don't need Rookie+Petrolhead Upgrade *and* a separate Petrolhead edition. They are functionally identical. So you may ask Apple to refund the one purchased later? Google for "refund" and "AppStore" to find a "how to".

Hi

I am not sure why I ended up with two versions on my iphone but that is ok, I like Laptimer enough to not mind giving up a little extra money for it :-)

I got the video and lap data to migrate. I simply moved all the videos to iCloud and then exported the database in the orginal laptimer. Imported the database from Dropbox in the GP Laptimer (it was hard to tell which app to send the database to since they both have the same logo and app names btw...) and everything seems to work :-)

Great - that's the additional value of iCloud integration (on top of MultiCam transfers).
