OBD throttle reading with LS1 swap

Post by olwe »

I am running a Miata with LS1 swap with GM ECU from a 2000Firebird Trans AM. I have several ODB readers but, after switching to iOS, seem to have the best luck with Veepeak (I have also tried OBDLink CS and GoPoint BT1 - the BT1 works well on my Porsche). The LapTimer version is Grand Prix 24.9.1.
The only readings now giving me trouble are throttle and brake indicators on the video. I get little or no throttle indication and have tried some of the various Expert settings.
Does anyone have experience to tell me what settings to use?
If not: How do I remove the brake/throttle indicator from the video?

Please start with checking whether throttle data is coming in. To check if throttle is available at all, connect LapTimer to the OBD adapter with engine running. Navigate to Sensor List and select the adapter and Info. Check the list for the TPS PID or post a snapshot here.

In case TPS is supported, export any lap to CSV and check the throttle row. Let us know what you see.

Braking is derived from negative lineal acceleration, this value is calculated.

You can reduce the gauges overlaid a bit. Goto Lap Details / Video / Export. In the configuration dialog, swipe to the second page. You can select engine overlays in the bottom.
