That feature is for "after the fact" comparison only. A real time view is currently missing.

I'm in the same event. I'd suggest adding a trigger type of "Time Go" were the lap would start at a preset time. This would be more accurate than when the car starts moving.

If your iPhone's clock is slightly off from the official clock, then just adjust the start time appropriately.

That might be a good option if the current lap blinks for a bit when it hits a split and then continues on much like the current sector field does.
It actually would be valuable on any normal track I run as well.

Harry:

Have you had any luck incorporating this into new features for lap timer?

No, sorry. Earliest release something like this will be included is v19. A feature like this requires some general rethinking of regularity support, so despite the complexity of the feature itself, there is more to consider... But it is not lost, I have a well managed feature prioritization process :-)

Harry,

Just to reiterate, the original request around the atomic clock really is not needed, as the lap timer will do all that I need with a manual start. The only feature to be added would be the ability to display the cumulative split time in some fashion and blinking of the total time for a few seconds after the split would be more than enough. I know you have many requests for features, but FYI the next time this feature would be applicable for my personal use would be August of 2014.

Thanks again for all that you do with the lap timer app.

Haven't checked the latest version of HLT, but the feature I'd like to see added is a time based start trigger. You could sync your start time with the atomic clock to get a very accurate start time.

Harry,

The next open road rally is on Sept. 21. Any chance we'll get the "start at specified time" feature by then?

Hi Deven,

It will not available at this time. Adding new trigger types requires a major release (including full test cycle) and I do not plan to have one until next Spring.

Sorry, fully booked with other stuff.

Harry,
Any update on this functionality? I would like to see a timed trigger as well for open road races.
