Hello I am having the same problem.
The yesterday I was at the track and it kept crashing until I accepted the request to perform a backup.
Got in 3 sessions of recording.
But in the afternoon the app kept crashing.
Would not load at all.
And I have the latest version with plenty of free space on my MicroSD car.
This is on a Samsung S20+
Any ideas?
I really want to get my laps off the phone to share with track friends...
App crashed, won't start - Android
Re: App crashed, won't start - Android
Usually, this is some issue with a database corruption. In case the app is not coming up, you database will have some corruption.
Please start with tapping this URL on your S20:
http://gps-laptimer.de/laptimer/emergencystartup
LapTimer will backup your current (corrupted) database and reset to the initial demo database afterwards.
Now, LapTimer should be able to come up and you can try to restore your old data.
Navigate to
LapTimer ‣ Administration ‣ Databases
and search for the last system backup (in the bottom of the list). Long press this row and select Restore. In case this works, run Check Data. Repeat until you see no problems were found. In case this doesn't work, try with the next older backup.
Please note that external backups are not working with Android 10 and v23. So please do not uninstall the app - this will result in a loss of data. As an alternative you can switch to the v24 beta announced in here on the forum.

When I tap on that link with my cell phone it gives me two options.Harry wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 9:09 pm Usually, this is some issue with a database corruption. In case the app is not coming up, you database will have some corruption.

Open using the Web Browser I just get a dead page.
Open using Harrys Lap Timer and it just takes me to a the home screen.
I agree to enter and then it takes me to a black screen and nothing happens.
Re: App crashed, won't start - Android
Okay I got it working.
I exited the black screen and loaded the app normally and it started.
Then I restored the latest backup and it all came back.
So should I try the beta?

I think the beta it is pretty stable. In case you have recordings you want to backup, try it.
