Oil temp is now working - big thanks to Harry for updating the app to make things work :)
It was fixed back in Dec once I provided the debug logs.

Here's the general steps:
1. Go to Settings, then open Expert Settings
2. Find the Custom PID 1 section
3. Set the values as per below. Note spaces in Formula

Hi, I don't want to start a new thread. But I want to ask. Does anybody know hot to make oil temp work on VW engines (from 2008 and newer)? It's possible to use these settings which are listed up there? :-)

I'm trying to get the oil temp to work by using the settings in the screenshots from nogzie, but it's not working for me. Maybe I missed a step?

Here's what I'm running:
Phone: Google Pixel 2 XL w/ Android 9
App: Laptimer v22.1.4
OBDII BT Adapter: Panlong ELM327 (It's a knock off for now, but I've already ordered a OBDLink MX BT)
Car: 2013 Scion FRS

Here are my settings:
Channel: 'Engine Oil Temperature [degree C]'
ECU: 'ECM'
Mode: 'Mode 21'
PID: '01'
Request Frequency: 'High'
Formula: '=AC - 40'

I am using your App Harry to read out the Oil Temp lf my 2013 GT86.

It work's but I am not sure lf the value is correct as
I always get the same Temp for "Oil" and "Coolant".

In Torque Pro when reading the same PID I get different values for coolant and oil. There however I face the issur that the values are only read upon App start. After 30s thd value is lost and shows -41 until app restart.

(I followed all instructions of this Thread and I am using the latest versions of boths Apps).

Any ideas?

Are you sure you have selected the correct (EOT) channel in Custom PID Settings? Share your settings as a screen shot please in case you want us to check. Please add a screenshot showing both coolant and oil values too.

Coolant and oil temperatures should certainly not be the same.

And when I open the dashboard for the engine I see (currently not connected as I am in office):
1.jpeg
1.jpeg (69.44 KiB) Viewed 8235 times
Then I click on "Kühlmittel" and the view changes to:
2.jpeg
2.jpeg (69.22 KiB) Viewed 8235 times
And I click again on "Öl" then changes the view to (notice how the scale changes):
3.jpeg
3.jpeg (68.61 KiB) Viewed 8235 times
So I was wondering if I somehow now have 2 values for Oil temperature available whereas one is equal to the "Kühlmittel" and the other not.
Also I was wondering how I can see the "Kühlmittel" and the "Öl" value at once in the gui.

When touching any small temperature field, it will get the one shown in the gauge, and the gauge temperature will get the one shown in the small field. That’s how it should be. At least with no OBD sensor connected, this doesn’t work currently. I will check for the next bug fix release.
