jittery video with iPhone 7

Post by Yellowjacketboss302 »

Hi Harry,
just changed from iPhone 5 to iPhone 7. I am using the same Ram mount as before, but the video is very jittery now. Video was a little jittery with iPhone 5, but not nearly this bad. HLT version is 20.2.2 with IOS 10.
Any other complaints with iPhone 7?
Any settings adjustments I could try?
Thanks.

We had this topic several times here already (and on LapTimer's compatibility pages on www.gps-laptimer.de). The later the smartphone model (both iOS and Android), the worse are rolling shutter effects. The iPhone 4S had the best cam for on track use ever. Smartphone manufacturers tweak their devices for recording from the owner's hand, not our use case. In case you can't tame it with a better mount or some damping, an action cam is the best option.

Sorry I missed the discussion of this issue on the compatibility page. I see it now, and ordered the cradle mount instead of the X brace mount I use now.
Thanks.
