Session is recorded but no lap times

Post by MiGorengNomNom »

Hi everyone!

So I finally got around to using HLT with my GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition with GoPoint BT1.

My issues from that track day are the laptimer records the session time but doesn't display each individual lap.

Laptimer recognises when I drive out onto the track even though I started manual recording in this video so I don't think it's the loaded track but I don't know what's going on so happy to be corrected! :)

The overlay is out of sync as well. I went into expert settings and played around with the overlay delay time but it still doesn't seem to see look right.

Any help would be appreciated!

Info -

HLT Grand Prix
iPhone 6S
GPS - iPhone
GoPoint BT1 OB2
GoPro Hero 4 Black
Track - Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia
Car - Honda Civic TypeR (EP3)

For video recorded manually, please keep the standard sensor delays. Synchronization should be done by using a manual sync point adjustment. Select the video from Video List, scroll to the bottom and touch the row showing the lap's sync point. Adjust it as required and use the Play function in Lap Details to verify the sync. Once it is fine, use the slower Export function to get an overlaid video.

Missing lap splits are usually due to either a problem with the Track Set, or missing GPS accuracy. Try repairing your recording as follows: load the track set from Add-ons. Allow LapTimer to purge any conflicting track sets. Goto the lap (Lap List) and select Recalculate ‣ Verify Lap. Select Wide when asked. In case this doesn't work, enlarge the Wide Corridor in Expert Settings and try again.

Thanks Harry.

The sync point adjustment has made it better but the throttle doesn't match up with the revs figures or sound of the car.

I followed the steps and loaded the track again, accepted new POI, recalculated, verified with wide corridor. Didn't work. I then increased corridor to 100 and 200 without success. Any ideas?

Problem with the Hidden Valley track set... The Stop/Go trigger has a wrong driving direction stored... To fix the problem locally, select Hidden Valley's Certified Track Set row from Lap List and select the Stop/Go trigger. Change driving direction from 325 degrees to 70 degrees. Afterwards, rerun the "Validate Lap" function to get 5 laps extracted. We will fix the track set on the server side within the next days.

Thank you so much, Harry! Exporting the new overlayed session now. The next sprint day is on next Sunday so I'll let you know how the fix goes :)

Updated video is up on youtube, however, I have a question.

The previewed overlay in the app shows the lap time on the right side after I pass the finish line but it doesn't appear in the exported file. Any idea why?

Hi,
the Hidden Valley Track with the corrected direction of start/finish line is now available for download.
Please reload it in 'add-ons', update list with button at top right corner, search e.g. for ‚Hidden‘ and load the track.

To check your new track version, have a look at it in map view ->start/finish line has to be 90 degree to driving direction.

When using Play, LapTimer always shows the full video length. Opposed to this, Export trims the video generated to the lap selection length. As the time mentioned is displayed once you have finished the lap, it is not visible with standard settings. To see the time, add some Outro / Extro time in Overlay Configuration. This will add the requested additional frames after the lap has been finished. 10s is a good value. This certainly requires video to extend the lap range - but this seems to be the case for your scenario.
