Align Video w/ .VBO export?

Help on issues you run into with LapTimer; in case you have a question on how to use LapTimer, use the forum "Using LapTimer" instead

Align Video w/ .VBO export?

Post by FilAlleva58 »

Briefly I'm having troubling aligning data in the .vbo export with the start of the video capture in HLT. If I delete 20 data frames and align the 21st data frame to correspond to the first frame of video, this seems to have the desired outcome so that video play back in CT is now aligned with the data values.

Any idea why I might need to do this? Probably a CT issue but just thought I'd check.

That's actually as expected. When recording a lap, the GPS data is monitored and stored once you pass the line. At this point in time, the video is started. This is turn requires 1 to 2 seconds (highly device dependent). So for the first lap, the session video will always be late. Watch LapTimer overlaid video: you will see the first frame of the video shows 1 or 2 seconds lap time already. To work around, start video recording manually in the pits. See Video Documentation for the details (www.gps-laptimer.de/documentation).
