Hi,
I have recently had a lot of trouble with my HLT.. A lot of "crashes" and stopped video recordings etc.. I haven´t tried to recover the database because I have not lost anything of great importance (just practicing laps on my home track) and I have another older quite reliable lap timer software so I have still been able to see what laptimes I have done..
I mainly use HLT for the easy video overlay-option and the possibilties to compare laps...
I believe the crashes are caused by insufficient memory + overheating problems..
Anyway, these crashes have now caused a lot of recovery files taking up space on my iPhone... When I open the HLT app in my iTunes I see a lot of .pbd and .pbd.save files ("LapTimerGPSRecDB...").. And also a lot of folders named "recoveryDBs...." (see attached pictures)
Can these files and folders safely be deleted? How? Simply by clicking delete?
Loads of .pbd and .pbd.save files.. can I delete these?

Re: Loads of .pbd and .pbd.save files.. can I delete these?
Oops, these are a lot of recovery files and a clear indication there is something wrong...
Please do not manipulate database files like this. There is actually an easier and safer way. But to start with, .pdb files are LapTimer's database and the .save versions are a backup to roll back after crashes. Deleting .pdb files will delete your data and deleted .save file will be recreated immediately when deleted. So hands off please
The recovery folders however are automatic backups LapTimer created to not loss data. We probably need to check what the reason for this has been. For a quick check, you may send a Contact mail from within LapTimer and I will check the system log.
The easy and safe way to clean up is by entering Lap List, scroll to the bottom and press Check Data. This will check data consistency first and repair issues (if possible). Once this is done, it will check for a big amount of recovery dirs. In case there are a lot, it will ask if you want to delete all but the last three versions. In case the check worked without issues, you can usually confirm this deletion.

Hi,
thanks for fast reply! I just sent you the system log. I will not press "Check Data" before I hear from you again.. Just in case something is terribly wrong
