Harrys laptimer fails to open

Post by Arsey8 »

Hi got HLT for a track session at Aragon - amazing amount of info and really improved my riding - so brilliant product - two things though - Showing a mate how brilliant it is I just tried to look up one of the sessions and the app wont open - the start screen comes up and then crashes back to the iPhone home screen - any ideas? - I've done the normal things like power down etc and tried to reload from the app store - same thing, the app appears to start to open then dies back to the home screen. The other thing is that on one of the track sessions the whole 20 minute session was logged as one lap - is this user error or were the GPS triggers not working - that can't be it because it still delivered data.

Hi,

For the crash, please post your system configuration and LapTimer version.

A missing split to laps is either due to low GPS accuracy or missing / wrong track sets. You may export the multi lap to .hlptrl and send it to me. I can check if it is possible to split it after the fact.

Hi Harry

Phone is a iphone6 8.0 (12A365) HLT is 19.0.20. I'm not concerned to recover data from that session but interested to know what I can do in future to avoid this.

Many thanks

I assume this is issue #8 listed in viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1693. LapTimer uses a function available latest in 8.4 - which makes 7.1.2 systems crash. I have no information when the named function has been introduced, but it has obviously been somewhere between 8.0 and 8.4...

Not sure it is possible to get to 8.4.x on the other hand, now that 9.0 is available... Please try the update function in Settings app ‣ General ‣ Software Update. I cannot recommend to go to 9.0 so far, usually it is best to wait for the initial bug fix releases. But you may get an offer to upgrade to 8.4.x first - which is recommended.

In case this doesn't work, please follow the workaround shown in the above post.

That's fixed it - couldn't get 8.4 so did the workaround.

thanks
