Actually I missed you were recording with an external cam when reading the first post... Let us make sure we are talking about a Sony remote issue only: for the second recording using the mixed mode start, do you get a correct video from the internal cam?

Second item to check: there have been some issues with Sony cam remote controlling with an older Android GP edition (not sure which version), can you please check you have 19.0.17 installed? Next, please check of you have the latest Sony firmware installed. Again, with some older version, there were problem remote controlling it. I can't say which version is necessary, but I'm aware the stock firmware may be outdated.

Yes, I am running 19.0.17 version. In my test where the recording was manually started after the end point, both the sony cam and the internal camera have the same footage in this case.

While at the autox that started this thread, they did not. I got only from where manually started through about 10-12 seconds on the sony cam, but the internal camera got the entire run.

I'll verify my firmware on the sony cam and redo my testing tomorrow morning to sync up with you test procedures and will post my results tomorrow morning. Roger

I was unable to find my firmware version for my HSR AS20, but there are no firmware updates offered for this model by Sony.
I recreated each step of your testing scenario, and cannot reproduce the issue I had at the autocross.

I am having some problems correctly managing my videos when my Sony cam is set as the master, but believe this is a training/experience issue on my part.

At this point, unless I have another occurrence like the one at the autocross I would say to stand down on the issue. If it happens again, I'll re-post here so
we can make another attempt at debugging it.

Thanks for your superlative support!

Hi,

Ok. A common reason for unexpected starts and stops are triggers detected accidentally when passing them in the opposite direction, or additional triggers set wrong. To work around the former, you can enter a driving direction to each POI. With this additional information, it will fire only in case you pass it as expected.

On handling external footage: agreed, this is still complicated. The best integration is available for the HERO4 currently, LapTimer is able to recognize the linked video without re-link and even transfer it device to device. It is slow, but things evolve over time and device generations. I will see if I can improve the Sony integration in the future.
