I am using iPhone 6 with IOS8.3 with GoPro3, IPOD 5th Gen with IOS8.3, GoPoint BT1a and Dual XGPS 160. As a rule I check General iPhone setting to validate WiFi has GoPro listed & connected and the OBD and the external GPS are connected via Bluetooth. HLT and Multicam are using the latest V19 versions of the product.
I then launch HLT, Select RACE and then Video with status all GREEN. GoPro beeps and comes on almost immediately with the typical image. Over last 2 track events, the HLT MultiCam does not always display on the HLT-GP. What I tend to do and it works 80% of the time is to fully shut down HLT-GP and restart it again and most times multicam will be recognized.
Any thoughts why this is happening?

Hi,
This is not a known issue but wireless connection create issues frequently... Have you connected the iPod to the GoPro wifi too? This may influence connection making as iOS is using some Bluetooth / WiFi combination for the connection type used...

On the track , there are no active wifi connections on the iPod. The only connection is the BT to Dual xgps160. I learned previously not to have iPod having active.
Does iPod ever connect to gopro, only when I use it for another purpose and setup connection.
What interface is multi am connection to master? Does it show up anywhere?

Re: MultiCam not launching within HLT-GP in RACE-Video mode
My understanding is you run LapTimer on the iPhone and MultiCam on the iPod (or vice versa) and control a GoPro using a WiFi connection. In case it is different, please let us know. I assume it is best to have both the iPod and the iPhone connected to the GoPro Wifi. This allows exchange between LapTimer and MultiCam using this local WiFi. It is intransparent (for me) whether iOS depends on this, the specs say both BT and WiFi is used.

Re: MultiCam not launching within HLT-GP in RACE-Video mode
I verified at last track event, that both the iPhone and the Multicam is wifi connected to the GoPro. When I select Race-Video, the goPro video Icon shows up 100% of the time, however, the multicam shows up hit or miss. My best solution so far is to shutdown HLT GP 2 or 3 times until I show the 2 PIP images in Race-Video, then I select AUTO and I am go to go on track.

Harry, any solution?
Re: MultiCam not launching within HLT-GP in RACE-Video mode
No, this is most likely a problem in the iOS communication framework used for device to device communication. Make sure both devices are on the latest iOS version, both have BT and WiFi turned on (connected to the GoPro network) and no other disturbing BT and WiFi sources around. In case this doesn't work reliable, you may consider to record videos using the Apple app (manually) and transfer it later. I'm sorry, but until I have replaced the communication protocol by something else, there is little I can do.

Currently running iOS 8.3. Is 8.4.1 stable with HLT?
