Accelerometer calibration error

Post by devenh »

Harry,

Installed 18.3 on my iPhone 4s and iPad (3d generation paired with an XGPS150) and when running a test the both showed on the System Status that the acceleration sensor needed calibration (red). Never had this error before. I came to a stop (as suggested in the popup help), but neither device cleared the error. Lap timing was still successful as I was not using a standing go. On re-reading the help, I realize now I did not lay the devices down flat as recommended. Was this my mistake or is there another way to clear the error?

I tried to duplicate the problem, but I could not. Nonetheless, I would like to know what to do if I run into it again.

Thanks,

Deven

LapTimer will not calibrate properly when oriented flat! Mount it in your screen using the correct orientation and confirm rotation when you are done. In case you find acceleration not around zero while standing still on flat surface, touch the acceleration circle in video view, or touch the Max G gadget in Timer View. This will start the calibration over.
