I am getting a motorola moto g phone for the purpose of recording video and doing overlays for track day. will this phone have enough processing power to do so? i may also use a bluetooth adaptor to add OBD 2 info as well

The Moto G is slightly below the processing power recommended, but may well work. OBD2 recording in realtime is sensible, too low processing power or number of processor cores can lead to lags in processing - which can become visible in overlays. I'd suggest to try it out, but not add too many options from the beginning.

One other question can your app use quad core processors or does it only use 2?

Android apps are pretty multi-threaded by nature. In addition, LapTimer uses additional cores for sensor handling, which greatly improves accuracy, for sensors without timing information (like OBD) in particular. So yes, 4 cores are good for LapTimer.

OK good I'll try the moto g and let you know how it works. It supposedly has a 4 core processor. I saw the recommendation on the website and the test was for 2 cores only so I hope if it uses 4 cores it will be fine
