throttle and rpm for non-OBD vehicles like bikes
throttle and rpm for non-OBD vehicles like bikes
If the HLT had the ability to gather voltage (ie, TPS) and frequency data (rpm), it could easily compete with other full featured DAQ/GPS timers like the GPX Pro. [Then, we'll have to worry Harry will triple the price! (which would still be a deal!)] Is there a blue tooth data acquisition device that can collect and scale the signals to engineering units, and then send them to the HLT, to be married with the other HLT data?
Re: throttle and rpm for non-OBD vehicles like bikes
you have one solution but it's so expensive. http://www.plxdevices.com/
with this you can add accessories and with the adaptater transmit to your iphone.

The available modules from PLX are only for additional values besides the basic ones in OBDII but there is no module for RPM, TPS etc.ripper79 wrote:you have one solution but it's so expensive. http://www.plxdevices.com/

I'm also very interested in such a solution. As far as I know, no one has developed a working analogue OBDII adapter yet.
Re: throttle and rpm for non-OBD vehicles like bikes
Totally agree that the ability to connect to non-obd RPM sensors is essential.
Think about all vintage racecars, motorbikes, formula cars, etc.
I used the micro input module on a Perf box: http://blog.racelogic.co.uk/tag/micro-input-module/
Hope and trust that this will be possible!
Thanks, P

Hi.
I am working on a "analog OBD2" Adapter, but it is not finished yet.
When it is done, you'll get informed in this forum.
