Just bought an LG G2 and when i overlay the video it comes in upside down; the car is upside down but the video shows the accelerometer on left and throttle displays on the right correctly.

I was recording with the camera towards the right (facing outwards) Do i need to record w/ the camera towards the left (have not tried this yet)

Thanks

Yes, currently you need to rotate it to the left. You may use some external video tool to rotate the video. But you need to take care it is physically rotated. So far, LapTimer sets a metadata entry it should be displayed rotated (that's the reason you can play it correctly), but it ignores this metadata when overlaying...

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try with the camera on the left later today. So far love the app and the capabilities.

I needed to defer working on this due to other topics (mainly video compression). Worked on background recording yesterday but found the anticipated solution to not work well so far.

is it at least possible to stop the lap timer from exiting the video window back to the "lap stats" while recording video?
It's not very practical to care about driving and making shure to re-enter the video window before crossing the line.

Not sure I understand. In case you want to record video in parallel to data recording, just keep the Video View open while driving. That's how it has been for years in iOS.

Most of the time I'm back in the lap Stats Window when I look at the phone and have to klick on video button.

Iopen die vido recording screen. When I cross the start line the vido recording starts. If I find a few seconds during the lap I check the status of the phone.
Most of the time the vido recording screen is closed an I'm back a the lap stats screen.
I click on the video button to re-enter the vido screen again. sometime I end up with a dark video being displayed in the video screen.
I can't tell if this happens on it's own, or if it's triggerd by an error during video recording.
Maybe it's triggerd because the back button is triggerd by the phone vibrating in the windscreen suction cup holder.
I was under the assumption that exiting the video screen after crossing the start line is a program feature, and I wanted to know if you can prevent that behavior.

Sorry, my english is not so good.

That's not how it should be. When leaving the Video View while recording, behavior is undefined currently (this is actually "background video recording" - which is not supported due to compatibility issues). Pressing the close button (or the Back hardware button) is not protected as I thought I could fix the background stuff fast :-(

So please check the accidental back button press - the video view must not be close while recording.
