Hey all;

Have a track only car that we set up for HPDE's and I/m wanting to get some info, data and fun for it.

Car is a 2007 Pontiac Solstice. I use an Iphone 8

I purchased the PetrolHead App, so what else do I need to make this all work.

Guessing I need a

OBDii osi compatible bluetooth reader
External bluetooth GPS unit that records at atleast 10Hz
Bluetooth tire pressure and Temp reader
Phone mount (for behind rollbar?)
external switch to turn the phone on and off?
Maybe a GoPro?

If this is what I need to be able to gain some info, any suggestions on what I am missing AND what, if any reasonably priced options there are for the above accessories.

ftr, previously in my old racecars I ran AIM stuff... Now clearly outdated...

Thanks for the insights!

A phone mount and some power supply is kind of mandatory, the rest is optional.
For serious analysis, start with an external GPS on top.
For fancy videos, add OBD II (http://www.gps-laptimer.de/compatibility/ios) and an action cam.

Got it but how do you run several bluetooth devices (OBDii, GPS, Camera etc) all off of bluetooth? I thought these phones were only able to run one blue tooth device at a time, no?

Also, if I mount the phone behind me on my rollbar, how do I toggle it on and off, being strapped in, there is no way to reach it...

Bluetooth is N:M, so your smartphone can connect to multiple BT devices at a time. That's different for WiFi - a smartphone can connect to one WiFi only. For more information, please read this FAQ: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2322

LapTimer's operation is "no-touch" while driving. In case the track configuration driven is not already loaded, load it front up. Install the device and drive. Start with reading Quick Reference in the app, it outlines how things work.
