Data overlay challenges

Post by jforte_m3 »

I’m using HLP Grand Prix v22.1 on iPhone 7S Plus.

I ran an HPDE at Virginia International Raceway recently and have 6 runs to download. I noticed on every run that the data overlay only appears on some laps and not all. For example, through 12+ laps over 45 mins, there’s only a data overlay on 2 of those laps. On another run, through 6 laps over 20 mins, there’s only data overlay on 1 lap. I can see this through the Overlay Configuration screen when a touch Export. I can reduce the overlay but can’t increase it. Below is a screenshot.

How do I get the data overlay on the entire run?

Can you please add a snapshot of Lap List showing the above 2 laps plus the others not offered for overlay?

I’ve replied a few times but it doesn’t appear my post is showing up. Are you receiving this?

Hi,

I need to change forum software to get new users to a regular poster status after the first approval. For now, in case a post does not appear immediately, it is in my moderation queue... I have removed the duplicates.

On the question: you see the grayed out entries in the list? These are so called incomplete recordings. They occur when a recording is stopped manually - e.g. when going back to the pits. LapTimer supports multi lap overlays only for consecutive laps with matching end / start time stamps. So if you have an interruption in driving, a multi lap sequence is interrupted too. To get overlaid videos for all your complete laps, please select lap #1, over lay #1 and #2, select #4 to overlay #4 and #5 and so on. You can add Intro and Extro sections to get some footage on leaving and entering the pits.

I wasn’t as much concerned about the grayed out incomplete laps. I understand that... Look at that second session in the list that starts at 9:06am. Only 2 official laps were overlaid but I had about 12 laps of uninterrupted driving over 47 mins. How do I get a data overlay on all the other laps of that session? This basically happened on all sessions for the day. It appears that only 1 lap is overlaid each time even though I continue around the track.

No ;-) You had a 4:11.20 lap, a 3:51.13 lap, and left the track afterwards (cool down: 1:13.17). The next lap 3:01.81 starts at 10:55 - which means there has been a pause between the end of the cool down and the next lap of more than an hour. So the 3:01.81 starts a new session.

Take a look at the time of each of those laps. One at 9:02am, next one at 9:06am, and the so-called third lap (ie. cool down lap) ended at 9:48am. That’s a 42 min time span including many more laps. Only the first two laps have data overlaid. How do I get data overlaid on the remaining 42 mins?

The same thing occurs on the other laps. Two consecutive laps ended at 10:55am and 10:58am. A third lap that looks like a cool down ends at 11:19am. How do I get data overlay on those additional 21 mins?

The time shown on the right is the start time of this recording (hh:mm). The lap timer shown on the left is the length of the recording starting at this point in time (mm:ss.hh). LapTimer has no recordings to overlay except for the ranges shown. I can't comment on the origin of the data / the way it has been recorded, but the ranges covered by recordings are 09:02-09:06-09:10 plus 09:48-09:49.
