Hi. Sorry if this has been covered before but I did search and couldn't find an answer. I would like to just use my iPhone 8 as the data and video (prefer not to use a Go Pro and have to sync it later). I see that most people mount their phone on windshield I presume to get good GPS strength? The problem I have is that I would like to be able to see the driver/steering wheel as well as the track.
If I mount the phone behind me on the roll bar ill be able to see all above but will it work or will I need a seperate GPS?
Thanks.
Can I mount iPhone on roll cage?
Re: Can I mount iPhone on roll cage?
You will need an external GPS to get recordings when mounting the phone to your roll cage / under the roof. GPS is at its limit when operated in a car anyway, that's the reason the GPS receiver must be mounted in the windscreen (or rear screen) as recommended.
