Online Mode

Post by Mr_Dog »

Hi,

We would love to get some more info on Online mode as we would like to use it at our local track with a group. Preferably we would like to use our own database just for consistency. There is mention of it being able to do this but no details.

What kind of database structure do you need? How do we provide username/password to login to the database? How do we go about viewing it?

Thanks

[Moved to Using LapTimer]

Online mode is described in http://legacy.gps-laptimer.de/Online_Racing.html (a bit outdated). Using your own server is usually not necessary. You can see lap times performed by track and by time performed using LapTimer's dedicated server. This allows you to see you group's times in a column. In case you really want to built up your own environment, a macOS device connected to the Internet and a LapTimer server license is required. This will give you direct access to your server's sql database.

Thank You for the info.

Would it be possible to get more info on the LapTimer server license?

While your server would be enough for now, it would be nice to have our own environment for more detailed analysis with access to the sql database.

Thank you for the info.

Would it be possible to get more info on the server license? I have a Macbook and a fair technical background so don't mind giving it a chance if it is reasonable.

While using your server would likely be enough for now I want to explore other possibilities that require access to the sql database. This is more of a hobby project for myself and don't mind sharing whatever I do with you guys as well.
