Multi cam overlays

Post by **betsy** »

Hi, I'm struggling to get my iPhone 6s and go pro 4 to overlay video footage with PIP.

I have them synced together, when I press record on the phone the go pro beeps and starts to record.

I'm no able to get the go pro idea into my phone and working?

When I try viewing the lap in the list it shows the phone footage but shows the go pro as off line.

I have tried down loading the go pro footage and I get a count down from 10 but nothing appears to happen?

What am I missing here?

Regards

The direct HERO 4 video download is not reliable for larger videos. That's the reason I recommend to use the classic copy and relink approach as described in Video Documentation available on www.gps-laptimer.de/documentation. It is not as convenient, but a lot faster than any WiFi download.

I'm afraid I lack the brain power to follow what seem to be fairly complicated instructions?

Is there any YouTube videos out lining what needs to be done to make a go pro, iPhone 6s film footage to be overlaid and saved?

No, there is no double documentation, I'm happy to have one nearly up to date.

Read sections "Transfer Footage from Action Cam to Smartphone" and "Associate Video Transferred with Laps" in case you want to skip the background information.

Ok, I have now D/loaded the external video and what I believe to of linked it to the iPhone internal video clip.
I can see master and pip videos when in video details.
I can not seem to get the pip to work though?
I can export the master with an overlay, but no External Vid?
Any pointers?

TIA

  • I understand you have recorded laps using an external cam plus the internal cam. Please confirm.
  • The expected result when opening a lap from Lap List is you see the master = external cam as OFFLINE and the internal cam as PiP. Please confirm.
  • Next, you download the video from the external cam to your smartphone. It appears in Video List (just like the internal video). Please confirm.
  • Now, open the lap again and touch the video showing OFFLINE. In Video Details shown now, press Re-Link and select the video copied from the external cam. Back in Lap Details, you see both the external video and the internal video thumbnails. Please confirm.
  • To generate an overlaid video, press Export. This will generate a video using the external video as master, the internal video as PiP, and gauges everywhere.

I can confirm everything behaves as it should until I reach the last step, overlaying.

I get several messages. See pics. Image

I had limited success earlier and ended up with one movie with PIP and the smaller pip had another video with in it?

Also, what is the best/correct Admin-Settings/multi can settings to use?

I haven't been able to get pip to play back with the overlay.

Please post a snapshot of lap details - and its Video Section in particular.
