Car Settings

Post by EvilMM »

Hi,

I am using the lap timer for some weeks and love it. I have spent some time, to specify two cars (Ford Fiesta and BMW M3).
Because this is an time intensive task and I think not easy to get all information for all cars, I would like to share these car setups.

Is there a public car settings database? If not: would it not be a good idea?
It would be great to upload/download car setups just like we can do that with tracks.

Greetings,
Klaus

Yes, this will be available soon. LapTimer v20 adds submission / certification of vehicle definitions. Once you complete a vehicle with all details, LapTimer will prompt you an ask if your want to contribute the definition created. In case you have not been prompted :-) you have probably not entered the car's make / model / year shown when pressing the Description row in Vehicle Details.

For v20 we collect that data (we have more than 100 submissions already) and will run some QA on it / learn from it. For the next bigger release (probably v20.1) autocompletion will be added. We have not added both steps at a time because we need a relevant base before the autocompletion makes sense.

Hi,

thanks for the quick reply. Unbelievable... but I have totaly missed to enter the maximum number of revolutions on both cars...
No i am getting the prompt to send the data, but this ends with an error, that I should check my internet connection.

This means LapTimer can't connect to the server.

Hi,
everything worked fine now. Perhaps LapTimer was not able to connect through our company firewall.
