I had the same questions that Cloud had, after following all the instructions regarding creating your own track. The key information missing from the documentation was that your created track would not appear in the track list! This is critical and should be made part of the documentation! Me thinks. I would have never figured it out without finding this thread...

Also, I am confused about how to manually start recording before the start line, without having to go to the video preview first. Seems like there should be a start button on the Timer view. I believe I have seen such a button on sample screen shots, but none appear for me. And if I switch to preview to start recording, I can not seem to figure out how to switch back to timer view without stopping recording. Which makes going to preview sort of worthless for manual start.

Otherwise, great product and I have high hopes of working with it on track.

Thanks,

Doug

Turn on manual timing in LapTimer ‣ Administration ‣ Settings ‣ Manual Timing.

I must be missing a step.in the process. I too want a manual start/stop for autocross runs, but I can't get it to activate.

Also, at one particular event site the GPS signal seems sketchy, both for me and a friend who uses a Garmin GPS. Will the A-X logging work in manual s&s in these conditions?

And finally, there are times when the stage sequence does not show. It will display timer view, but no stage message. Again, this is probably something I am missing. Any ideas?

That did the trick! Now I have the Start button on the Timer display.

And the program worked well at the track today. I now have some nice video and data to go through.

Thanks Harry!
