GoPro-2 video files spanning 1 run session & Set-Up Configs

Post by llan981 »

I had opportunity to speak with 4 drivers at the event and show them how to set up HLT and use it more effectively. Not that I am by any means based on my posts an expert but you will shortly have 4 more Petrolheads using HLT.

I completed a run session using Gopro at 1080P, 60FPS, Medium View in the car with spot meter on. My video was split into 2 files of 5GB in total. Question, how would you recommend I join the file (or not) so I can re-link it to my track session?

I also found these articles perfect on describing GOPro setup:

Hi,

I can answer in theory only. Joining or not depends mostly on whether you want to overlay the lap that has been split on the video side. Otherwise I'd recommend to watch the raw video on a desktop first, decide which laps are worth overlaying, cutting the this lap sequence out, and copying it to the smartphone. LapTimer will align all laps in a row when on of the laps is aligned / synced to a video, so this part is not too complicated.

P.S. In case you want to overlay the split lap, please check if the GoPro fragments make a continuous frame stream when joined, not sure if frames are dropped when switching to the next file.

I'm glad I posted this, as I'm just back from track and need to do it again, and forgot which software I had used
