I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I am not currently an iPod user. I am considering purchasing an iPod specifically to use with LapTimer and am considering an older first or second generation iPod Touch to keep costs down. I would use a GPS receiver that is compatible with whatever iPod I find.
It appears an older iPod will not be able to record video in the background, which is fine with me. Is that that only issue with using older hardware? Are there any other issues or compelling reasons to get a newer iPod for LapTimer?
Thanks!
Compatible with all generations of iPod Touch?
Re: Compatible with all generations of iPod Touch?
Hi,
I test iPod devices 3rd and 4th generation only. Older devices are critical due to computing power and main memory available - but may work (@all, please give your feedback). I will probably drop support for devices with iOS 3.1.3 in one of the next versions, so a 3rd gen iPod is a saver bet.
