Hi - first off, I'm a new user on the forum but have been using the app for a couple years now, and I think it's a great tool. Harry, thanks for putting it together and continuously improving it!

I was wondering if it is possible to integrate an aftermarket tire pressure management system (TPMS) into the app? For example, I came across this product: http://www.orange-electronic.com/en/ora ... _p418.html which seems to send data from sensors in each wheel to the iPhone. If there is a way for LapTimer to capture that data along with all of the other GPS, acceleration, video, etc. data, I would really appreciate any info or tutorial on how to set that up. If it is not currently possible, I can add a request in the appropriate forum.

To the OP, Harry & those considering same ;

I was going to request the addition of TPMS info., too. I'm glad not to have bothered Harry, in hindsight.

Using the tyre-valve type of sensors, I have bought and binned two complete systems, with no less than 10 wheel sensors destroyed in under two years.
They simply aren't robust enough to last normal road use, let alone trackdays, IMO. My tyres are low-profile (245/40/18's) but nothing beyond the sensors claimed usage range.

Numerous car manufacturers used the same type of sensors, initially. Most appear to be, or already have, changed over to systems that use wheel speed sensors, for more reliable detection.

Hope this helps to aid any potential purchaser of a TPMS to make a more informed decision. Andy

WizardKing - thanks for the heads up. I had assumed that the sensors would be similar to what Porsche uses on their OEM system (which I have seen work on the track in several cars).

Not directly an answer about TPMS and HLT but I can vouch for the durability and accuracy of the following units from a UK company called TyrePal. The units can read 0 to 6.8bar (0 to 99psi) with an accuracy of ± 0.1 bar (1.5psi).

The system is wireless and no wiring is required in the car. Simply replace your dust caps with the sensors. This is photo of my unit installed in my Audi TT





But they cannot be connected to HLT AFAIK.

I guess I know something that might be able to make into Laptimer, if they provide some kind of API:
