Laps split in two

Post by maschoff »

Hi,

This is from Sonoma raceway.

Some laps get split it into two shorter laps. Is there a way to fix this?

Please see attached.

Select the second part of a lap you want to join (e.g. the 1:11.85). Select Fixes in the Data Recordings section. In the bottom of this screen, you will see a join button in case this part can be joined with the "lap" before.

You will need to adjust the video sync manually.

Select the joined lap from Lap List, goto Video Preview, in the Video Details dialog coming up, search for the sync information in the bottom and select it. Follow instructions to adjust the sync.

Oh well, I tried to recalculate the lap and some how deleted it. Not sure if I can recover it somehow?

This app is very frustrating ... please always allow for undo.

Undo is almost absent on mobile devices. LapTimer will always prompt you ahead of destructive actions. In case you have created a backup, please restore that. Otherwise, goto Administration / Databases and check if you see an automatic system backup with a sound number of laps you can restore.

Yes. The join operation is actually "join with previous". So you need to select the seconds "lap" to get the join function. In case it is not displayed for the second lap, this means its starting position does not match the first lap's end position. In this case, they cannot be joined automatically.

Hi Harry,

I recently joined a lap that the laptimer recognized as two separate laps. Also Sonoma Raceway per OP.

I used the JOIN method as you described, and it worked.
Do you want to join this lap (01:07.69) with the preceeding lap (00.511.65) and form a new combined 01:59.34 lap?
Image

However, the new lap [after being joined] shows a 01:58.65 lap. My other GPS timer showed a 1:59.36 for this lap, and Harry's consistently stays within 0:00.2 of the other GPS timer, so I have confidence in the 1:59.34 lap as originally prompted.
Is there a way to correct the joined lap?

This is my first ever post on this forum. I've been using Harry's LapTimer for nearly a decade. Upgraded from Rookie to Grand Prix after about 5 years.
Thank you for making this app.

Best,
Alex
