Fuel Level

Post by PitrsRS »

Hi, Harry
I´ve tested that settings for fuel and result is 50/50

At the first moment it showed 10% remaining, then it dropped to 9%, which I think was corresponding to reality.
Then I refueled to the max (i took 41 litres, max is 45).
After that, HLT shows "only" 69% of fuel tank. I checked vehicle profile and there is correct value for tank capacity.

Where should I look? What should I change?

Re: Oil Temperature OBD?

Post by Harry »

This is a new topic, please do not hijack existing topics to discuss something different - even if you are the OP of the other topic. I have split the topic, so no action required anymore.

Fuel level is provided by OBD in percent. The value displayed is 1:1 what LapTimer receives. The levels in Expert Settings are uses for warnings and for remaining lap calculations. The tank size is optional and used to do any conversion between percentages delivered and volume values required in certain calculations.

So if you see 69% after filling the tank, this is what your car measures. Sometimes this value is low passed and take some minutes to give a better value.

Harry,
My apologies. I dont had any bad intentions about "hijacking" other topic. I just don't wanted to start another thread for almost same thing. I´m moderator on other car forum, so I know how messy it can be.

Back to my "problem".

I´ve tried it several times, turn engine off, on again, give it some time to settle but without success. Everytime I killed app and then reconnect to OBD. Everytime I don´t get more than 69%. Tomorrow I´ll check fuel level with VCDS.

It is well possible your tank sensor delivers 69% when the tank is full.

Hi Harry,

So, you were right. I´m testing it on my company car which is Skoda Fabia 3gen 1.0TSI (MQB platform), and that sh*t box really shows only 69% even on full fuel tank also in VCDS.

So

Settings for HLT are correct and ussable, tomorrow I´ll test it in my older Octavia II RS.
next step is oil temp :-D

So, I´ve tested fuel in my Octavia II RS, and it´s not working. So, setup which is listed in previous posts can be used on MQB platform but not on older Golf 6 platform :/
