Preview with very low FPS - unusable

Post by micblom »

Hi Harry,

since the last update i have issues with manual overlay. If I run the video, I have the overlay at maybe 1 FPS. The video itself runs normally. This way I can only guess if my video is in sync (I sync at hard turn ins).

My setup:

iPhone X at iOS 12 Release Candidate
XGPS 160 at 10Hz
internal Sensor at 15Hz
Video footage from iMovie (in mp4)

Thanks for any suggestions/fixes

Michael

Not related, but please update your LapTimer copy to the latest version on AppStore (22.0.4 or later).
What you describe sounds like some processing overload.
Try restarting the iPhone, the X should handle LapTimer load easily.

Latest Version of HLT is installiert. Just tried after a reboot. The phone is still struggling! Overlay rendering speed seems fine, the Output is smooth as well.

For me this was introduced with the latest update, before (and I‘m on track regular) it was fine, including all Betas.

Please clarify: what do your mean by "manual overlay"? The video posted looks like an exported video, not the real time overlay?

I just put any external Video to any lap, did not bother to sync. What you see is a Screenshot Video of realtime overlay in HLT. You can also tell by the aspect ratio of the X in landscape and the bar at the bottom.

Next version will come with extended information in Contact mails - all settings changed will be listed.
When using the realtime preview on my X, everything is smooth... For me this looks like some type of device specific overload.
I do not have an idea currently.

This is still an issue for iOS 12.1 and with the latest HLT Update. Can I report a summary of my settings?

Yes, just send a contact mail from LapTimer’s startup screen. Make sure you have 22.1 installed.
