So then I close the app and try reopening but continues to update data and can't get back into main menu. I then reboot my iPhone and same problem!
This is the best screen shot I can grab before it goes black and crashes

Re: Re-sorting GPS Data Keeps Crashing, Can No Longer Open App
Hi,
LapTimer fails restoring the data (i.e. crashes during repair).
To get LapTimer going again without deleting your data, please start Settings app and scroll down to LapTimer. Select Expert Settings and scroll to almost the bottom again. Check "Emergency Startup" and start LapTimer again.
You will find LapTimer starting up, but with an empty / demo only lap list.
Goto LapTimer ‣ Administration ‣ Databases and find the database looking most promising for a restore. This will be one of the last automatic backups. In case you find several databases wit the same number of laps in the end, choose the first one. Sample:
Automatic Backup / 10 laps
Automatic Backup / 10 laps
Automatic Backup / 20 laps
Automatic Backup / 40 laps
Automatic Backup / 60 laps <--- select this one
Automatic Backup / 60 laps
Automatic Backup / 60 laps
Automatic Backup / 60 laps
Swipe the row you selected and select "Raw Data". Send the mail generated to me (Harry@gps-laptimer.de).

Re: Re-sorting GPS Data Keeps Crashing, Can No Longer Open App
By the way, after successfully restoring to one of the backups and going to Add-ons to update my track list, I received a message about conflicts so I cleared out some old laps. I then noticed some laps on the 'ring that I've obviously never been on. When deleting those, the app crashes again. I don't mind leaving them in there but thought you should know.Harry wrote:Hi,
