Track laps not splitting

Postby MrBlah » Mon Jul 10, 2017 2:15 pm

first time it happened at VIR full, yesterday I was at NCCAR and the same thing happened, it's not splitting laps. I'm using a racecapture pro mk2, and bluetooth to HLT, HLT also runs a gopro via wifi.

I also ran a wifi module this time and ran the racecapture app on another phone, it split the laps perfectly.

Here's some sample, right at the start you 1can see the map spinning, I've done a few trackdays with HLT before and did not have this problem with the racecapture, it started at the last trackday at vir.

I'm not sure what to look at in the data logs to see what is wrong

Try editing the Start/Finish and set the direction to 0.000. That will remove direction as a criterion. Then go to recalculate/Verify Lap. I don't think Harry as issued the update that improves direction calculation with RaceCapture devices yet. Also, what GPS rate are you using? A slower rate will, I think, improve direction calculation.

how do I edit the start finish on a racetrack? this track runs both directions too, sometimes they flip at lunch

I use 25hz, works great with the racecapture app, and solostorm too I built the map for the track last week and both solostorm/racecapture picked it up and it worked.

I love how the racecapture lets you run wifi and bluetooth clients simultaneous. Solostorm even uses the gyro from the racecapture instead of the phone

Touch the track set line in lap list. Touch the Start/Finish POI, scroll to the bottom and touch direction. Set all the numbers to zero and save. Don't reload the track set or you will have to do this again.

I don't have an Android device. That would make SoloStorm very expensive for me.

I cant find the "track set line" in the lap list

I can go into the session, click on the map and see the POI but it does not do anything when I touch it

I did verify laps and it's splitting in the wrong place, splits over on a turn that is near the straight where the start/finish actually is, but it did split the laps correctly once I modified "normal" to be 25 meters

it's like my gps is off or something, or major drift

To find POIs (and modify them), select LapTimer ‣ Analysis ‣ Lap List. Scroll to the track the POI is associated to and find a row saying "User Defined Track Set" or "Certified Track Set". Press this row to get into "POI List" showing all POIs for this track. Touch one to modify it.
