Using External SD Card for storage

Post by kpctoy »

Hello,
I have a Droid DNA that does not have an external memory slot. What I do have is a dongle that connects to the data port on the bottom of the phone that connects to a 64gb thumb drive. The device recognizes the drive as well as other application but Lap Timer does not. I've re-booted, removed and re-installed but every time Harry's starts it shows the following in video list:

/storage/emulated/legacy/Movies
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/

Is there a way to force save to the USB drive?

Thanks,
Kevin

It looks like the external memory slot is not mapped to a standard directory recognized by LapTimer. Please investigate to precise path the memory car is mapped and I can add it to an upcoming bug fix release. Try for example ES File Explorer. In case it can access your SD card, it will show a path too.

Hi Harry,
ES File Explorer shows it as:
USB20FD

Is that what you need?

No, it will be mapped to some file path starting with a slash "/". Something like the two paths in your post above.

O.k., please watch release notes for upcoming versions and let me know if you get the USB storage shown as a separate section in Video List. Do all this paths show the same content?

Instead of adding a special solution for a special device, you will find a new Expert Setting in LapTimer v21.0.5:

Once it is available, enter something like /sdcard/usbstorage/USB20FD. You will probably need to restart the app to get an effect.
