Data recovering

Post by dydy77 »

Hi Harry,

I have a new android phone : Huawei P9 on Android 6.0.
My old phone was a Wiko Ridge 4G on Android 5.0.2

I want to backup,@mail and import all my configuration ( vehicule data, user, track and laptiming)

So on my old phone, i do : database -> backup local -> mail

On my new phone, i download file with the @mail, i open ES explorer, and click on .hlptrz

HLT is starting and ask to me if i want to import the file, i click on YES.

and immediately, HLT said : Erreur : Echec de l'importation du fichier 'LapTimerAll....hlptrz'. Données perdues

So i click on OK, and it is finish, file can not be import.

I try only with cars export (.hvehz), it is the same.

I do something wrong ?

Please check if the permission "Storage" is granted for LapTimer. You find app permissions in Android's Settings app. Individual permissions are an Android 6 feature.

Hi Harry,

My friend have an other probleme about data recovering.

He do a backup of his older phone (SAMSUNG G S6) on Gp version and send @mail backup. .hpltrz
He installed and upgraded GP version on the new phone (SAMSUNG G S7)
Add all permission of the app to granted ! (both phones)
He download file and open it by HLT.
He check the import by "YES, continue"
And HLT finished the importation with 0 lap, 0 track, 0 car !!!

He try my backup and it is OK on his new phone

I try his backup, 0 lap, o track, 0 car !!!

So the problem come from file compression or file export of his old phone !

Have you an idea what is the problem ?

Yes, it is probably a video link corruption I have seen. The trick is to run a Check Data before exporting the data - this will clean up the corruption and the .hlptrz will be fine. In case the S6 is not accessible any more, please send the .hlptrz to Harry@gps-laptimer.de, I can repair this particular issue.

I'm having a similar issue -- but I still have the old phone. I'm transferring from a nexus 5 running Android M to a Pixel Running Android N. When I try to load up the hlptrz It loads 0 laps, so I tried running "check database" on the old phone but it crashes during the check database and then I have to recover the database on the old phone. Is there anything I can do to make this work or do I need help to fix the database?

Thanks for all your help!

The crash on the old phone and the problems with imports are related - the issue existing is "exported". Please send the .hlptrl file to Harry@gps-laptimer.de and I will try to fix it.

Hi Harry,

Congratulations for your great product!

I am using an iPhone 5 on a motorcycle.

I did a two day track day event in Spa last May. I managed to create single lap overlaid videos on my phone. Now I wish to export the data from the iPhone to Dashware and do a longer video with overlay using Dashware.
The issue have there is that it seems the log data is incomplete. It stops at 14:47 on the data file but on the phone the overlaid videos I created were for laps around the 16:00 mark. That makes me think that the phone had enough data to do the lap overlay locally but, somehow the export module on the phone did not export all the data.

What are my options please?

Thanks,
Chris

Please goto Lap List, select any lap you recorded for this track day. Start Export and make sure you select the complete track day as scope (you can select lap, session, day, all for this track etc).
