iPhone 6 Accelerometer lag?

Post by Nightmare »

When using HLT Petrolhead (v20.0.11) for IOS, and using the iPhone's internal accelerometer @25 hz ("automatic preset" configured, not individual), it seems like the accelerometer data in the overlay is like 1-3 seconds delayed versus what's happening on screen.

Is there a way to improve that delay? Me and my friend are both having the issue.

Please update to the latest version of LapTimer first.
A delay of 1 or 3 seconds is by far more than you should get with the default setting. You can adjust sensor delays to better sync things, but the named gap does not sound like your data is good enough to start this complex exercise. Please search for "sensor delay" here on the forum, there are plenty of discussions. When adjusting delays, always use automated recordings, no manual recordings.

There's a three-axis Bosch BMA280 accelerometer and what Chipworks believes is a MPU-6700 six-axis accelerometer from InvenSense. According to Chipworks, Apple may have decided to incorporate two accelerometers into the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to both minimize power consumption ..
