Transfer my data between devices fail!!
Hello,
I'mt trying to transfer my laps and vehicle data from my old handset to my new one LG G5.
I've the Petrolhead Edition and updated to last version on all devices.
I'm going to lap list, select "export", "all" and .hpltrz format, then I upload this file to my OneDrive. I download to the new phone, the app says "File LapTimer-Allxxxx.hlptrz ready for import. Are you sure you want to continue?"
I select "Yes, continue", and the app responds "Import of file xxx failed. Data has not been added."
Same goes for when I export my vehicle on .hvehz format.
Also I tried to find the app folder in my old phone to copy the data manually but can't see anywhere, the phone has only internal memory and no sd card, when I go to storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.harrys.laptimer folder there is the Movies folder (empty as I have no vids) but no laps or anything else...
I need my laps in order to compare my times otherwise this would be a disaster.
Please anyone could help me?
Thank yo so much in advance...

Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
Yes, that's a known problem for the current Android version. The import fails when reading vehicle definitions, so laps defined ahead (vehicle definitions are always in the end) will probably be imported nevertheless. To work around, please unpack the .hlptrz file (rename to .hlptrl.gz first to allow proper file association) and remove the complete section from <vehicles> to </vehicles>. Send the .hlptrl file to yourself again and the import should work. This problem will be fixed for the next bugfix release.

Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
Hello Harry, really appreciate your help.
Tried your solution but I think I'm missing something:
- Changed extension from .hlptrz to .gz
- Opened with 7-zip (i'm working in windows environment)
- Deleted all the section <vehicles> to </vehicles> with Notepad++
- Compressed again to .gz with 7-Zip
- Changed extension and upload againg
- Trying again from the phone stills the same error.
As you say laps are before vehicles section, but doesn't import in the app.
If I create exactly the same vehicle with same stats than in my older phone the import will work?
Apart from vehicles section, have I to delete "vehicle" lines aswell like in this example?
<date>24-SEP-15,18:03:00.00</date>
<lapTime>8:00.67</lapTime>
<vehicle>xxxyyyzzz</vehicle>
<track>NordschleifeBTG</track>
Thanks again for your support.

Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
No, the <vehicle> can be left unchanged.
I will plan to upload 20.0.16 shortly. In case it doesn't work with it, please send the .hlptrz to me.

Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
Hi Harry,
I've updated to last version on both phones. Then exported and tried again but unfortunately now the message is "Succesfully imported 0 lap(s), 0 GPS fixes and 0 vehicles(s)".
I've mailed you my hlptrz file.

I hope Harry will help me too. I have the same issue here...
Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
That's because you haven't updated the app to the fix version mentioned above. Please update (now 20.0.17) and it should work fine. I got 265 laps imported.jvanks wrote:I hope Harry will help me too. I have the same issue here...

Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
I'm using V21.0.1 on 2 phones (have checked version on both) and having identical issues (failing to import on new phone with same error messages as above).
Would the manual workaround still be worth trying or is there possibly another issue?
Cheers - N

Re: Transfer my data between devices fail!!
Please send the .hlptrl file to me and I will check. Btw, for Android I have uploaded a bug fix release 21.0.3 earlier today.
