Veepeak does not connect correctly

I can not connect to veepeak obd2. I am using latest laptimer (v23.0.6, grand prix edition). I can use the same sensor with other apps on my phone. It shows green status on the list of accessories, but it does not look like it is receiving actual data. See the screen shot of the status screen.

My car is BRZ 2018 in US.

Thanks,

Simas

This means LapTimer can connect to the accessory and send initialization commands (AT). However, the adapter seems to not be able to negotiate a proper protocol to access the car’s bus.

Please make sure no other app is accessing the device from background (ie kill any other OBD app).

Hi Harry,

Having a similar issue (car is a 2008 R8). Please see screenshot below. How can I make the Veepeak connect correctly? Also using the Rookie edition.

What I see in Sensor Information is That the adapter fails to negotiate the bus protocol with your car. You can try selecting your car’s protocol in LapTimer’s Expert Setting / OBD Tweaks. Try the CAN 11/500 protocol, it is the one used mostly.

Yes that worked! Had tried it by using another app to see the protocol and once I chose that all good.

Thanks for the feedback. I have changed initialization slightly to work around an issue with the Kiwi4. It looks like this change introduced an issue with the Veepeak...
